Radio Frequency (RF) Microneedling
Radiofrequency RF Microneedling is a cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles and radiofrequency waves to rejuvenate skin. The treatment is a form of controlled skin injury that stimulates the growth of healthy new skin. Microneedling uses a fine needle to create microwounds, or channels, in the skin. This triggers the production of elastin and collagen. Radiofrequency RF Microneedling releases radiofrequency into the channels, causing additional damage. This enhances the effects compared to standard Microneedling.
The skin that grows back is thicker and smoother and has an improved appearance and texture. RF Microneedling can improve and reduce the appearance of:
Acne Scarring
Age Spots
Dull, Devitalized Skin
Enlarged Pores
Fine Lines/Wrinkles
Jawline Laxity
Scars
Skin Laxity
Stretch Marks
Sun Damage
Uneven Texture
Radiofrequency RF Microneedling is considered safe, but it isn’t appropriate for everyone! You should avoid the treatment if you are currently taking or have recently used Accutane, have an active cold sore breakout, have a skin infection, have a moderate to severe skin disease (like psoriasis), are receiving chemotherapy or radiation therapy, are pregnant, have a history of keloids, hypertrophic scarring, or poor wound healing or are taking anticoagulants.
SPF sunscreen needs to be worn for several weeks after your treatment as your skin will be extra sensitive to the sun during this time. Wearing makeup 24 hours after the procedure should be avoided. After 24 hours, you can return to your normal makeup and skin care routine.

RF Microneedling can treat all skin types and colors including tanned skin. People who have active cold sores, a skin infection, a skin disease such as psoriasis, are receiving chemo or radiation, take anticoagulant medications, are pregnant or have a history of poor scarring including keloid scars, or poor wounding are not good candidates.
-
Visible results can appear within a few weeks, but the most noticeable results typically appear after three to six months. RF Microneedling results are long-term and can last for years. However, it is important to protect your investment by having a regular skin maintenance program using medical-grade skincare and daily application of an SPF 30+ sunscreen.
-
The microneedling device contains ultrafine, very sharp, sterile needles that puncture the skin which causes only minimal damage to the skin. These microneedles do not cause permanent damage to the skin. Your comfort is important, so a topical numbing cream will be applied to the areas 45 minutes before your treatment begins.
-
Possible side effects with RF Microneedling include peeling, itching, acne and cold sore flare ups.
-
Expect some inflammation, swelling and redness like a sunburn that can last 24–48 hours after the treatment. Minor pinpoint bleeding and possibly some bruising may occur. After the treatment, moisturize the treatment area regularly and avoid direct sun exposure. We also recommend using a good, broad-spectrum 30+ sunscreen every day.
-
The number of treatments required will vary based on the current condition of your skin and your desired treatment goals. Most clients require 3 to 4 treatments to achieve desired results. Yearly follow up treatments are recommended to maintain the results.
-
Since downtime is minimal, makeup can be applied one to two days after your treatment. Patients should expect to see micro-lesions a few days after treatment and slight redness for up to one week. We recommend using a tinted SPF or mineral makeup.
