Light Therapy
Blue Light Therapy (417 nm)
Acne will affect most people at some point in their lives and can lead to devastating effects on a person’s self-esteem and social life. It may begin during puberty and make reappearances throughout our lives, changing from month to month or year to year. In some cases, acne doesn’t occur until adulthood.
Blue light therapy which is non-invasive and drug free is the most commonly used treatment to address acne breakouts whether they are on the face or body. The wavelength of blue light has an antimicrobial effect, making it effective at killing several types of bacteria that can collect in your pores and oil glands and cause breakouts. Blue light activates chemicals inside these bacteria, which ruptures their outer walls– destroying the cell and their ability to form acne and other imperfections. Just one treatment will reduce the size and appearance of active acne within 24 hours.
Red Light Therapy (633 nm)
Red light therapy (RLT) containing the 630nm wavelength has been proven to be a safe and effective method of stimulating hair growth in both men and women. Treatments can be for the face as well as any body area. Additionally red light therapy is an emerging treatment that’s showing promise in treating a vast many conditions.
Visible red wavelengths (633 nm) can absorb into the skin to a maximum depth of between 4 and 5 mm. On it’s own, the red light wavelength (630 nm) is highly beneficial; but you’ll get the best results by combining shorter (red light wavelengths) and longer wavelengths (infrared light) in the visible and near-invisible light spectrum.
Near-Infrared Light Therapy (850 nm)
The “best” near-infrared (NIR) wavelength for deep-tissue treatment is believed to be 850 nm, which is near the upper range of NIR light.
NIR offers a whole new set of medical benefits and is the best choice for deep tissue applications, which can pass through all skin layers and even tough connective tissue and bone. Near-infrared light can absorb into the tissue to a maximum depth somewhat greater than 5 mm, or a little over 2 inches. This absorption depth extends to the bone, muscle, blood vessels, organs, abdominal fat, lymph nodes, and other tissue and fluids well beneath the skin.
Best results will be obtained by COMBINING Shorter (red light wavelengths) and longer wavelengths (near-infrared light) in the visible and invisible light spectrum!

You may be a perfect candidate for LED light therapy if you have some skin care concerns such as acne, dermatitis, dull skin, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, sun damage, scarring and some wounds. This type of therapy is perfect for people who have been suffering from skin conditions and have used over the counter skin products and doesn’t get better results. Light therapy is also an effective treatment for hair regrowth.
The reason why LED light therapy is popular nowadays is that it is effective and safe to use. In fact, LED therapy is suitable for regular use and unlike chemical peels or laser therapy; it doesn’t cause burns at all. It is also safe to use for any skin type and skin color.
Nevertheless, we do not recommend light therapy treatment for people with the following contraindications: retinal disease (macular degeneration), diabetes, headaches, light sensitivity or photosensitivity, migraines (due to photophobia and photosensitivity), photosensitive skin, use of photosensitizing medications (e.g., psychiatric neuroleptic drugs, psoralen drugs, antiarrhythmic drugs, antimalarial drugs, antirheumatic drugs, St. John's Wort), and ocular abnormalities.
