Laser - Frac Non-Ablative (1540 nm)
Fractionated lasers treat the skin with a laser beam that is comprised of many columns of micro-beams that are all separated by gaps. Thus, only a fraction of the skin is treated, with gaps of untreated skin throughout; this enables the skin to heal much faster with less risk of complications.
Fractionated lasers can be either ablative or non-ablative. Ablative types of skin treatments partially remove the skin's top surface to achieve a fresh and improved skin surface. Non-ablative treatments involve treating the deeper parts of the skin without removing any part of the top layer. Non-ablative lasers tend to offer fewer side effects with shorter healing times, but will require multiple treatment sessions.
This controlled damage causes the skin to repair itself thereby increasing the production of collagen and elastin and generating new skin that has more volume and looks younger and healthier.

If you are considering an Icon 1540 treatment, it is natural to wonder what you can expect during the procedure. Here is a general overview of what typically happens during a typical Icon 1540 treatment session:
1. Consultation: Before your treatment, you will have a consultation with a skincare specialist who will evaluate your skin and discuss your concerns and goals with you.
2. Preparation: Your skin will be cleansed, and a numbing cream or gel may be applied to the treatment area to help minimize any discomfort.
3. Treatment: The Icon 1540 laser will be applied to the treatment area in a series of passes, delivering fractional laser energy deep into the skin. Clients typically experience a warm, prickling sensation during the treatment, but discomfort is typically minimal.
4. Post-treatment: After your treatment, your skin may be slightly red or swollen, but this should subside within a few hours. You can return to your normal activities immediately after your Icon session, but it is recommended to avoid exposure to direct sunlight and to use sunscreen to protect the treated area.
The length of the treatment session and the number of sessions needed will vary depending on the size of the treatment area and the severity of your skin concerns. To help maximize your results, we will provide you with detailed instructions on how to care for your skin following the treatment.
